One of the best neighborhoods for homebuyers in Hollywood – Mulholland Drive
Views of Downtown LA as well as the San Fernando Valley make Mulholland Drive one of the city’s most visited streets. The 2001 film Mulholland Drive, starring Naomi Watts, by director David Lynch, helped bring even more attention to the area. It’s a great place to see famous people’s homes and has a lovely drive at the same time. Quite a few famous people have called this place home, including Jack Nicholson, John Lennon, Madonna, Warren Beatty, John, and Marlon Brando. You won’t find a single affordable or small home in this area. In fact, if you check out Zillow.com you won’t find any available homes in this area. But, if you find a local realtor who specializes in luxury properties you will see that there are many options available. Homes like these are not listed online.
Many artists and musicians associated with the 1960s counterculture, including The Doors and Crosby, Nash, Stills, and Young, made their homes in the area around the Canyon Country Store. Maybe you can live in one of their old homes? In many ways, Mulholland Drive hasn’t changed much from the heyday of the Summer of Love, and that makes it a great place to stop for a cup of coffee and some serious nostalgia.
The Instagram area – Melrose Avenue
Even before Melrose Place became a household name in the ’90s, Melrose Avenue was one of L.A.’s most well-known thoroughfares. The famous Paramount Pictures Studio is located there, along with other restaurants, bars, and clubs. You’ll need to keep your phone set on portrait mode handy because the street murals, as well as the art, are so spectacular they’ll make for excellent Instagram posts.
Around this same general area is where the legendary Pink’s Hot Dogs first opened in a pushcart in 1939 at the intersection of Melrose and La Brea. Although it has the appearance of a dive, many famous people have eaten an 11-inch chili dog there late at night. Regular customer Kiefer Sutherland even had several of the chili dogs flown all the way to him while filming in Europe. This area is great if you have the time to wait. Unfortunately finding a home here is not so easy and you may need to wait a few months until something pops up so you can move in.

For those who want to live near celebrities – Hollywood Boulevard
The Walk of Fame spans 15 blocks of Hollywood Boulevard and honors the lives of approximately 2,700 notable people with sidewalk stars. The TCL Chinese Theater, one of the best theaters in the world and the go-to spot for red-carpet events, is also nearby. Can you imagine living near all that?
After admiring the “stars,” head to the famous Hollywood Museum to peruse more than ten thousand movie mementos and production items from films both old and new. The exhibits at Ripley’s Believe It or Not! are among the weirdest and most startling in the world. The Hollywood Wax Museum is the perfect place to take a photo with your favorite celebrities.
Once again finding a home here is extremely hard. You will need a lot of help to get what you want here. A realtor will only be your first stop. Your last step will be locating the best local movers to help you to move and settle in. You will obviously do some research on that later. As you can see homebuyers in Hollywood have a lot to do and research before finding the right place.
