Since we noticed that many Californian seniors are retiring in Ohio, we had to do some research in order to show you some charming cities in Ohio that can be great for you as well. Berlin is our first stop

Berlin, Ohio is a popular destination for tourists interested in experiencing authentic Amish culture. Many Amish shops and workshops are open to the public, and visitors can enjoy home-style meals prepared just like grandma used to make. Berlin is a charming little town that you shouldn’t overlook. This might not be a very exciting place with amazing nightlife but it is just what seniors need. Beautiful nature surrounds the place. Also, the crime rates are very low. Affordability and safety mixed with a lovely view. What more can one want? Make sure to start your research here. We even noticed that some Californians are moving their businesses here to Ohio, Berlin to be more specific.

Highland Heights

With a population of slightly more than 8,500, Highland Heights is among the smallest and yet most charming cities in Ohio. The town has one of the lowest crime rates in Ohio, earning its reputation for safety and security. Ten miles to the east of Cleveland, Highland Heights is a pleasant place to raise a family as well as retire. Everyone can enjoy themselves for hours at a time at the community’s large pool and recreation center. At weekends, they have some great exercises for seniors. We recommend you research this place as well because it might be a perfect place to call home.

Solon can also be a good choice

Solon, a relatively small city in Ohio, has been recognized as one of the state’s best places to call home. Just over 23,000 people call this diverse city home. Solon’s public schools consistently rank first in the state, and the city’s residents also take pleasure in frequent performances by a philharmonic orchestra. The town has a beautiful layout and landscape, with neatly manicured residential areas and thoroughfares. Once again we have a safe place with low costs of living. Definitely worth exploring. This is also a good place for California businesses.

Springboro is one of the charming cities in Ohio

Springboro is a pleasant small town with a population of just under 17,000. It has a rich history that dates back to the era of slavery. This city was an important stop on the Underground Railroad because it provided safe haven for slaves trying to flee to freedom. Several of the original farmhouses still stand today, and they are surrounded by lush farmland. The National Register now includes many more residences. With so rich history you will have plenty to learn and explore in this charming city.


Mason, Ohio, with its slightly more than 34,000 residents, is known for having excellent public schools and easy access to major highways and interstates. King’s Island, a major amusement park, is located in town, as are three major golf courses. The housing prices are fair for retirees and young families who want to settle down in a secure community. In fact, this place is very popular amongst homebuyers who are looking to buy a good investment. You should definitely research Mason and see if it looks like your future home. Besides being a nice, safe, and charming place it’s also known for some of the best schools in the whole state. Grove City is also quite famous for its outlet malls so this can be a perfect place for seniors who enjoy shopping, nature, and some amazing senior groups this city has. You will find a lot of great amenities and great neighbors here. Movers in this area are excellent. Besides settling you in, they will also be able to help you to free up space in your home and find good storage nearby.
